UR 1003 CAFÉ MONDIAL CAFE MONDIAL has developed logistics for the operation and management of telematics competence resource centres. These centres provide facilities to exchange information at several levels, i.e. at a local level in a community, at higher levels towards a borderless communication throughout the world. The exchange of information is in two ways: vertically in providing training materials and information of general interest; horizontally in offering the possibility to exchange mail. information, and ideas with others and find new groups of common interest in other areas and countries. This should be vital not only for SMEs or students. but also for citizens to help them build a common Europe. The wide range of courses on offer from franchising partners include Health Care, Animal Health, Business Studies, Languages, IT and Multimedia. |

UR 1008 EMPLOY EMPLOY will facilitate the social integration of young Europeans threatened by social marginalisation. The EMPLOY project will use the opportunity offered by multimedia technologies with the development of new vocational training products that are well fitted to "on demand" distance training and, besides, may be psychologically more easily accepted by a population reluctant to traditional education system. Located in five European sites, EMPLOY stations will be provided in special multimedia centres, where young people will be able to access vocational training, employment opportunities and tele-services. Several tele-services will be provided on a European scale either regionally as employment information for the young and information about qualified young people for potential employers. |

UR 1030 TEX.AT.WORK The TEX.AT.WORK Project stems from the need of the Textile - Clothing - Distribution sector to further strengthen its competitiveness and to maintain the present employment levels. The project's aim is to support the whole Textile - Clothing - Distribution sector and the related transport sector to understand the benefits of the telematic tools and to foster their utilisation by developing a new organisational model allowing the acquisition of advanced communication techniques, and a set of innovative applications to be tested in European companies involved in the project. Eventually the project will successively disseminate these applications in other companies of the sector |
