The ATTACH project is developing a series of on-line kiosks for use by people taking account of any disadvantages the user may have. The services in mind include Community Services, Administration Rules, Benefit Programmes, local facilities, police and emergency and on line communication. These services should then improve European Mobility. The CANS project aims to use Telematics to better distribute services to migrants. A Network linking together experts throughout Europe will help in the more effective distribution of existing services. EPITELIO network (telework) hopes to orchestrate groups involved with the fight against social exclusion by providing them with the information and services that may be needed. The project recognises the need to integrate excluded societies into the European Society and that services are required that will facilitate that integration. The approach that the PERIPHERA project (telework) has taken is to establish Telecentres in six validation sites. These sites allow the marginalised individual to take part in training in skills including teleworking, the centres will also provide opportunities for access to essential equipment in pursuit of skills development. These centres will then exploit ‘new opportunities for working’ and ‘new ways of working’ (their quotes) through self-help. The IRDSS project (regional) aims to unite marginalised communities by linking their economies to more central regions and to the Information Society. This is to be achieved by building telematic tools to aid local communities move towards integration with each other. TELE-INSULA (regional) concerns itself with islands. Often simple official tasks must be carried out from the mainland that could as easily be carried out telematically and so better involve Island people. Tele-Insula wishes to establish which services could be provided to islanders such that their integration with their mainland and each other could be improved. |
