| The
EPITELIO network hopes to orchestrate groups
involved with the fight against social exclusion
by providing them with the information and
services that may be needed. The
project recognises the need to integrate excluded
societies into the European Society and that
services are required that will facilitate that
integration.
The
suggested services include messaging and
communication between users (effectively just
email), teleworking sites so that jobs can be
completed remotely, discussion groups for users
and subject orientated networks for information
that may be of interest within particular
subjects.
Services
are also provided, along similar lines, for the
groups already involved with the fight against
exclusion. There is a recognition that both
groups of users have individual needs and
requirements.
The
Manchester site has established the start of
their section of the network, the Manchester
Citizen Net, at http://www.poptel.org.uk/iac/mcnet/mchome.htm.
They also have provided an exhaustive site
explaining their involvement with the project and
a description of how they see the project and its
aims.
Pangea
has set up a site along similar lines to the
Manchester one, although with perhaps more
information about Work Package Six and a brief
description of the rest of the packages. This
site is often hailed as the EPITELIO home site
(at http://aleph.pangea.org/epitelio)
although the site at http://www.eurosur.org/epitelio is
also extremely informative.
