Inter-Regional Information Society Initiative (IRISI)

Supported by the European Commission, 23 European regions have established a network and an electronic communication platform to jointly develop their progress towards the Information Society by developing advanced applications in selected fields. A regular newsletter is published.

	A brochure produced in Spring 1995 by Jeremy Millard of the FORADA project based on the experience of the ORA Programme in the Commissions Third Framework Programme. The brochure describes how:

trade and and investment are becoming global in nature and extent

the pace and application of technological innovation is rising steeply

markets and institutions are being de-regulated

new types of activity and opportunity for European localities and regions are being created by the information society
