The METASA research consortium is working with citizens from all walks of life in four small towns to identify the best multimedia services for them in the Information Society. The project takes its lead from the requirements of the users rather than testing a technological blueprint on a preselected customer sample. It confronts the uncertainties of choices for industry with regard to information processing, its methods and purpose. The location of the towns, the quality of sampling and the multi-national nature of the project are expected to quickly transform the varied needs identified into open and effective services and applications, planned to be developed and demonstrated during the succeeding stages of the project. Major Validation Sites: Poitou-Charentes (FR), La Rioja (ES), Baden-Wurttemberg and Sachsen (DE). |
