Telematics for Urban and Rural Areas (TURA)

Unofficial TURA web-site, hosted and managed by the TWEURO project

This part of the TWEURO web-site is devoted to the Telematics for Urban and Rural Areas (TURA) sector of the Telematics Applications Programme, under the Fourth Framework Programme for Research and Technology Development. The site's prime purpose is to act as an information and dissemination channel for TURA projects, both between projects themselves and between projects and the non-TURA constituency, which includes other Commission research and technology development projects and actions, as well as the wider community (business, public and citizens).

Up-to-date information is provided on all of the 33 TURA projects, including where relevant revised project descriptions, abstracts of available public deliverables and access to full deliverables either on this site itself or elsewhere. Topical news of interest to TURA, as well as links to other relevant sites and information, management assistance and a general discussion and help forum is also provided.

Each of the TURA projects on this site is allocated to a loosely defined topic group with which it has close affinities. For each topic group, topical news of interest to the topic, links to other relevant sites and information, and a general discussion and help forum is provided.

QUALITY MISSION
This site is only as good as the information provided by TURA projects and the quality of the management provided by TWEURO. Every effort is made to ensure close cooperation between all concerned with the primary aim of minimising  work by projects whilst maximising the benefits both to them and external users.

 TWEURO has existed for 5 years, initially on Compuserve only, and now also as a web-site, as an electronic platform providing information, discussion fora and tools, and individual human-mediated help and advice from dedicated sysops. The intention is to continue this good record by providing similar excellent services for and about TURA.
