INCLUDE project objectives

The INCLUDE project is a 4 year cooperation between the main European experts on the issues of telematics applications and elderly/disabled people with the goal to ensure that issues of importance for these groupings are optimally addressed at programme, sector and project level within the Telematics Programme. INCLUDE will achieve this goal by:
* assessing the plans, work and achievements of all projects in this regard.
* developing and providing concertation and consensus mechanisms at programme- and sector-level to support optimal consideration of disabled and elderly users needs and requirements.
* providing ongoing support at project-level.
* assessing issues related to standardisation and legislation in order to ensure a broad uptake of the results.
* producing targeted information, publications and pamphlets on good design.

The support action INCLUDE, will improve the efficiency of the projects user needs studies. The concertation activities and support to legislation bodies will ensure that good design practice finds a large uptake. The close links to other European projects as well as to organisations for disabled and elderly people and the creation of a pool of external experts will ensure that the incoming as well as produced knowledge is at the highest possible level.

The structure of Include is the following:

Work package 1 Management

Work package 2 Dissemination of information about services provided, issues concerning disability and telecommunication, design for all, standardization, legislation and policy issues

Work package 3 Support to Telematics projects in analysing their plans, work and achievements in respect of needs of older people and people with disabilities
